Too many young people grow up with low self-esteem, low aspirations and the compounding effects of economic and social disadvantage. Our work is rooted in the UK: hands-on workshops, bootcamps and mentoring delivered with schools, councils and community partners the length of the country. Since 2023 we have shared that model internationally.

Summer Bootcamp

Aimed at helping 200 young people in the UK build their confidence and self-worth, a week of workshops on identity, employability, enterprise and public speaking, run with schools and community venues.

Who We Are

A social enterprise built around young people’s self-worth

ProudToBeMe is a social enterprise dedicated to empowering individuals to embrace themselves, their work, skills, abilities, leadership and decision making.

We support the increasing number of young people in the UK affected by low self-esteem and low aspirations, the overall effects of low economic and social disadvantage, and structural racism. It is our belief that empowering them to make better decisions will help them develop into confident and informed young people.

Our Impact

What changes when a young person believes in themselves

We measure our work in what young people can do afterwards, speak in a room full of strangers, apply for the job, start the business, lead the group. Each programme is tracked against the outcomes below.

Confidence & self-worth

Measured before and after every bootcamp through participant self-assessment.

Employability & enterprise

Digital skills, CVs, interview practice and first business ideas through Tech4 Teens and our seminars.

Leadership & voice

Peer leadership, public speaking and decision making across Her Power, Her Peace and Beyond 2030.

Beyond 2030, United Kingdom

The challenge

Young people in disadvantaged UK communities are rarely asked what they want the next decade to look like and rarely shown a route into it.

What we did

A UK workshop series pairing young people with employers, mentors and council decision makers to set their own goals for 2030, then plan the first step.
