The BBCIN in partnership with Proudtobeme is implementing the We Move project which goal is to encourage individuals develop healthy relationship with social media and take better care of their mental health through the promotion of offline living such as doing outdoor activities &
interacting more with nature (like taking walks), socializing in real-time. Overall, we want to promote a healthy balance/relationship between self and social media.
To achieve this, workshops are held in cohorts with young people between the ages of 13 – 18, to discuss issues bothering on mental health in relationship to social media use, and ways that young people can use social media in productive and healthier ways. In line with this, So, The Self workshop, group discussion and Q&A session was held. Topic such as Self-branding were discussed among others. The attendees left more equipped with information and skills on how to be better and safer internet users, who have a heightened sense of self worth.
